It was made in Maya 7 and rendered using Mental Ray. This took me about 30hrs to make.
It was made using Polys and then converted into SubDs for finer creasing. The final poly count for the whole cars is a bit over 600,000 faces.
I used the new paint shader in mental ray which I think is awesome and also DGS & Dielectric was used. I also used a physical lens for DOF.
Final Gather & HDRI was used for lighting.
Hardware used was: Duel Xeon 3.4, 2Gb DDR2 & Quadro 1400. I was lucky enough to have about 6 of these machines available to me for rendering, thanks to TAFE.
