F40 wallpaper 1 by subaqua F40 wallpaper 1 by subaqua
It was made in Maya 7 and rendered using Mental Ray. This took me about 30hrs to make.
It was made using Polys and then converted into SubDs for finer creasing. The final poly count for the whole cars is a bit over 600,000 faces.
I used the new paint shader in mental ray which I think is awesome and also DGS & Dielectric was used. I also used a physical lens for DOF.
Final Gather & HDRI was used for lighting.

Hardware used was: Duel Xeon 3.4, 2Gb DDR2 & Quadro 1400. I was lucky enough to have about 6 of these machines available to me for rendering, thanks to TAFE.

This model is simply amazing! The only crit i have is that the reflection is too much and that is the most common mistake i see people do when rendeting cars. Im working on a car too and its pretty challenging, your model turned out very realistic. Another thing that i just noticed is that the side window is missing and u can see the empty interrior....

Thanks.
yea i never had time 2 finish it as i ended up getting a job and have been 2 busy. i would like to finish it one day though. For this render i wasnt really going for a real car look but more of a toy. thats why i made the shadows realy vivid.
